When it comes to writing, people often say, ‘write about what you love’ so when the opportunity comes up to write about a subject I love, in a place that I call home, it’s not something I tend to say no to. I was thrilled when Visit Coventry asked me to come on board writing blogs and articles to help promote the food and drink scene in Coventry.
Like so many Midlands cities, Coventry finds itself much-maligned by many who are quick to criticise. But recent years have seen an influx of investment courtesy of the City of Culture bid, and it is fast catching up with other cities across the country. From independents bars and restaurants to venues, general revamping of the city centre and a host of events, I am firmly of the belief that Coventry is on the up.
With that in mind, being able to share some of the great places that have long been hidden gems, along with some of the new openings, is not only a great project to be involved in, but something that’s a real joy to be a part of. Each month we publish a blog on a specific new food business, or something more general to showcase some of Coventry’s food and drink offering. You can find them here.
As well as this, I was delighted to be asked to help write the new Visit Coventry official Visitor Guide, showcasing the city’s offering from music and nightlife to culture, history and food and drink. The guide has already been enjoyed by many visitors to the city and praised for its tone and informative content.
